Iran’s top national security official has rejected reports that Tehran is seeking to reopen negotiations with Washington, saying there are no plans for talks with the United States.

Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, took to X on Sunday to respond to recent media speculation that Iran had used intermediaries to initiate contact with the U.S.

In his post, Larijani criticised U.S. policy under President Donald Trump, accusing Washington of sowing instability in the Middle East and shifting its priorities toward support for Israel. Larijani reiterated Tehran’s longstanding position that Iranian forces were not the aggressors in recent regional confrontations. He did not offer details to support the media reports about contact through third parties.

The post also addressed circulating claims – unverified by independent sources – about the deaths of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and senior military figures in recent military actions. These reports have not been confirmed by reliable outlets or official Iranian sources.
