“We’ll Be Decisive on Wike’s Issue at Our Next NEC Meeting” – Bode George
Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, has declared that the party will no longer delay in addressing issues surrounding the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
Speaking in Lagos after the Southern Zoning Consultative Meeting attended by PDP governors and stakeholders, George said the party had exercised enough patience with Wike and his loyalists but would now take a firm stand. He stressed that the forthcoming meeting of the National Executive Council (NEC) would provide the platform to act decisively.
“The party will address the Wike issue this time around. At the previous NEC meeting, we considered taking a decision, but it was agreed that more time should be given to engage with members who had decamped. That time has now expired, and we must take a decisive step; otherwise, the party risks being seen as indecisive,” George said.
The Southern leaders also discussed zoning arrangements, with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde confirming that a position had been reached and would be presented to the NEC on Monday.
George insisted that any challenge to the proposed PDP convention slated for Ibadan in November would also be addressed in line with the party’s commitment to unity and discipline.
