We Are Taking Steps to Stabilise Governance and Revive Rivers’ Economy – Fubara

Governor Siminalayi Fubara has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to restoring political stability and economic recovery in Rivers State. In a message delivered by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, to mark the Eid-al-Adha celebration, Fubara acknowledged the ongoing challenges in the state but assured residents that practical steps are being taken to address them.

The governor called on Muslims in Rivers and across the globe to reflect on the values of sacrifice, obedience, and faith, which he said are central to the Eid-al-Adha celebration. He highlighted the significance of Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion and urged the faithful to embody forgiveness, compassion, and unity in their daily lives.

Fubara encouraged Muslims to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity, and prosperity, particularly as Nigeria grapples with insecurity and economic hardship. He stressed the importance of a shared vision and collective action in achieving meaningful progress and urged communities to foster reconciliation and support the vulnerable.

He acknowledged the patience and sacrifices made by the people of Rivers State amid political tensions and noted that, despite these hurdles, the administration has recorded some achievements. Fubara reaffirmed that efforts are ongoing to stabilise governance and revive the economy, with promises to address citizens’ concerns through tangible solutions.

The governor concluded by wishing the Muslim faithful a peaceful and spiritually fulfilling Eid celebration and called for continued prayers for Rivers State.

Fubara remains suspended as governor of Rivers following President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency on March 18, citing a prolonged political crisis and sabotage of oil infrastructure in the state. The suspended governor recently held a meeting with President Tinubu in Lagos.
