Video: “I’m Not a Sacrifice – Mummy Was”: Akwa Ibom Governor’s Daughter Accuses Him of Killing Wife for Ritual, Alleges Threat to Life

Jane Edidiong Ufot, daughter of Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno, has stirred shock and concern following a social media video in which she accused her father of being complicit in the death of his late wife, Patience Oluwakemi Umo Eno. In the emotional outburst, Mrs Ufot alleged that her mother was sacrificed and claimed her own life—and that of her daughter—may now be in danger.

“I’m not a sacrifice, mummy was, but I’m not,” Mrs Ufot said in the video, a declaration that has since drawn public attention and widespread speculation.

Currently serving as a senior special adviser to the governor on health, safety and environment, Mrs Ufot made the allegations while on a video call in which she instructed her young daughter to directly question Governor Eno about possible threats. The child asked, “So, Grandpa, do you want them to kill us? Do you want them to die like my baby brother died?” The governor’s response was inaudible, and the identity of those referred to as “them” remained unclear.

Mrs Ufot’s mother died in September 2024 from an undisclosed illness. Now, her daughter suggests that death may have been the result of ritual sacrifice. She hinted at undisclosed revelations that may soon emerge and warned that if she or her daughter were to die, their blood would not be “shed in vain.”

“If I die today or my daughter dies—if we die because God is exposing the truth—so be it. But my blood will not go scot-free,” she declared.
