Video: Hoodlums Attack El-Rufai’s ADC Coalition Meeting in Kaduna

A coalition meeting of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Social Democratic Party (SDP) under the leadership of former Kaduna State governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, was violently disrupted in Kaduna on Friday when suspected government-sponsored thugs stormed the venue.

The attack occurred at the Conference Hall of NUT Endwell in Magadishu Layout during the Kaduna State Transitional Leadership meeting. Witnesses reported that the hoodlums, allegedly mobilised by state officials, injured several participants and destroyed property. Vehicles, including one belonging to El-Rufai, had their windscreens smashed, while windows of the conference hall were also damaged.

Eyewitnesses said the incident unfolded despite the presence of armed policemen who had earlier been deployed to prevent the meeting. Reports also suggest that the state government had pressured several event centres to cancel prior bookings made by the opposition coalition, forcing the group to move its gathering to NUT Endwell.

“This is an indication of the bloody politics that lies ahead, marking the rising tensions between El-Rufai and his former ally, Governor Uba Sani,” a source at the meeting told SK Blog. The source alleged that the operation was coordinated by certain government officials, including a senior aide identified as Hon. Babaji.

Images and video footage obtained from the scene show injured participants and the chaotic moment the thugs forced their way into the hall.
