VeryDarkMan Reverses Stance, Testifies Before Reps on Bobrisky Audio, Bribery Allegations
Blogger and activist Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, testified before a House of Representatives joint committee on financial crimes and reformatory institutions on Monday, revealing how he obtained a controversial audio recording allegedly linked to cross-dresser Bobrisky. The hearing is part of an investigation into bribery allegations against officials from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and Haliru Nababa, the controller-general of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).
Initially reluctant to speak in the absence of Bobrisky, VeryDarkMan was eventually persuaded by his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, to address the committee. He disclosed that he received the viral audio recording from an individual who claimed to have been blackmailed by Bobrisky over a debt. “How I got hold of that recording is as a result of Bobrisky blackmailing somebody he owes money. The person borrowed Bobrisky N4 million while she was in EFCC detention,” he explained, stating the loan occurred on June 19, 2024.
VeryDarkMan previously shared an audio clip in which Bobrisky purportedly admitted to bribing EFCC officials with ₦15 million to drop money laundering charges against her. The recording also suggested that following her sentencing for naira spraying, Bobrisky’s “godfather” arranged for her to serve her six-month term in a private apartment.
The House of Representatives has resolved to probe these serious allegations against the EFCC and NCoS, as both agencies face scrutiny over their conduct. Meanwhile, Bobrisky has denied all accusations, and investigations continue into the matter.
