Reports indicate that he had resisted leaving the Vatican for several days before being rushed to the hospital. Italian Cardinal Angelo Comastri, 81, commented on the Pope’s demeanor during this health crisis, telling broadcaster Rai, “Francis is very calm. His helm is in the hands of the Lord.”
