US Assists Israel in Intercepting ‘Nearly All’ Iranian Drones and Missiles, Says President Biden
In a statement on Saturday, President Joe Biden announced that US forces successfully assisted Israel in intercepting “nearly all” drones and missiles launched by Iran towards Israel. He expressed his strong condemnation of Iran’s actions and reaffirmed his “ironclad” support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The attack, involving Iran and its proxies operating from Yemen, Syria, and Iraq, targeted Israeli military facilities. In response to the attack, President Biden highlighted the deployment of US military aircraft and missile defense systems to the Middle East, emphasizing the potential Iranian threat to Israel.
President Biden also mentioned his upcoming meeting with leaders from the G7 group to discuss a coordinated diplomatic response to Iran’s “brazen” attack. He commended Israel’s ability to defend itself against the attacks and reiterated the US’s unwavering commitment to Israel’s security.
Biden confirmed that no US forces or facilities were targeted in the attack. The president’s statement underscores the ongoing strategic partnership between the US and Israel, particularly in the face of security threats from Iran.
