In a Twitter statement posted by the police, it was clarified that there was indeed a mixup in identities. Contrary to initial reports, the individual arrested was identified as DJ Commissioner Wysei, not DJ Switch. The police extended their apologies to media outfits, including Lindaikeji, BBC, and TVC, for any inconvenience caused by their earlier confirmation of DJ Switch’s arrest.
Furthermore, the police expressed regret to DJ Switch herself for any misunderstanding or distress caused by the erroneous reports. The clarification brings relief to DJ Switch and her supporters, while highlighting the importance of accurate information dissemination in sensitive matters.
There is a mixup from our end. Arrested person is DJ Commissioner Wysei not DJ Switch.
Apologies for all inconveniences to a few media outfits like Lindaikeji, BBC and TVC that I gave confirmation this morning.
Apologies to DJ Switch too. 🙏🏻
