Unilag Sacks Vice-Chancellor
The Governing Council of the University of Lagos has relieved the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olawatoyin Ogundipe, of his appointment.
The sack of Ogundipe was announced at the meeting of the Governing Council of the UNILAG held at the National Universities Commission in Abuja.
The governing council has moved the meeting to Abuja after the local chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities threatened to disrupt the meeting should the pro chancellor, Dr. Wale Babalakin attend.
Seven members of the council voted for Ogundipe’s removal while four voted against and one member voted for suspension instead.
