UK-Based Nigerian Researcher Invents AI Tool for Terrorist Identification
Yunusa Jibrin, a Nigerian researcher based in the UK, unveils groundbreaking AI technology designed to identify terrorists and their hideouts.
Jibrin, a graduate of the University of Sussex, shared that he utilized AI-driven image synthesis to produce numerous visual representations showcasing bandits in desert environments. Notably, his research demonstrated remarkable accuracy during initial assessments, employing a Vision Transformer (VT) model specifically tailored for identifying terrorists.
Speaking with Vanguard, Jibrin expressed his optimism that if adopted by the federal government, his findings could play a crucial role in guiding military efforts to identify and eliminate terrorists across the nation. He emphasized the ongoing efforts to formalize the research findings, with intentions to publish and integrate the developed algorithms into the operational frameworks of the Nigerian government.
