U.S. Offers $10 Million for Information on Iran’s Supreme Leader, Senior Officials
The U.S. Department of State’s Rewards for Justice program has announced a reward of up to $10 million for information on several high-ranking Iranian officials, including Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.
In a statement issued Friday, the department said individuals providing credible information could also be eligible for relocation assistance under the program.
The U.S. accuses these officials of commanding units of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and alleges their involvement in planning, organizing, and carrying out terrorist operations globally.
Officials named in the notice include:
* Esmail Khatib, Minister of Intelligence and Security
* Ali Asghar Hejazi, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Supreme Leader
* Major-General Yahya Rahim Safavi, senior military adviser
* Brigadier General Eskandar Momeni, Minister of Interior
* Ali Larijani, Secretary to Iran’s Supreme National Security Council
* Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, Supreme Leader of Iran
The U.S. government emphasized that the rewards program is part of its broader counterterrorism efforts targeting individuals it identifies as leading or directing terrorist activities abroad.
