Former Vice President, Joe Biden chances of replacing President Donald Trump in the Oval Office has brighten with latest results in Georgia where he has overtaken the GOP candidate as votes continue to trickle in.
Biden now leads in the state with 2,449,371 votes to Trump’s 2,448,454 votes as total counts reaches 99% of the votes cast.
In Pennsylvania, Biden has also cut Trump’s lead to 18,042, having scored 3,267,923 votes to Trump’s 3,285,965. Election analysts has predicted a Biden win in the state as more votes are being counted. Pennsylvania has 20 electoral votes, a win for Biden in the state will take the former Vice President to the 270 electoral college votes needed to emerge president. The state has about 2,600,000 mail-in votes, out for which about 1,500,000 are Democrats. The delays in the counting has been attributed to the record numbers of mail-in votes, which is taking time to be opened and counted.
In Arizona, the Democrat candidate has maintained his lead with 1,528,319 votes to Trump’s 1,482,062 votes from the 90% of the votes declared so far.
Biden also maintains lead in Nevada with 604,251 votes to Trump’s 592,813. Only 84% of votes cast have been counted in the state.
