Two Women Abducted in Abuja Rescued After Being Found Along Abuja-Kaduna Expressway
The Niger State Police Command has rescued two women who were found abandoned along the Abuja-Kaduna expressway.
According to the command’s spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, the women were kidnapped on December 15, 2025, while traveling from Gwarimpa to Kubwa in Abuja by three men in a private vehicle. The victims reported that a chemical substance was sprayed on them after boarding the vehicle, causing them to lose consciousness. They regained awareness blindfolded and in an unknown location.
The abductors reportedly demanded ransom from the victims’ families, but when negotiations failed, they took the women’s personal belongings and left them on the roadside.
Police received a report on December 21, 2025, around 11:45 a.m., that two women had been found abandoned along the expressway, showing signs of possible injury. A patrol team from Maje Division responded and immediately took the women to a nearby hospital, where they received medical attention and were stabilized.
The victims were later reunited with their families. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
