Two Kidnappers Arrested During Planned Intimate Meeting With Victims
The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested two men suspected of abducting and sexually assaulting two married women, following a planned meeting arranged after the victims’ release.
Police sources said the suspects kidnapped the women at separate times and held them in captivity, where they allegedly subjected them to sexual abuse. During the period of detention, the suspects reportedly expressed emotional and romantic interest in their victims.
Investigators said the women, acting to protect themselves and improve their chances of survival, pretended to reciprocate the suspects’ advances. This led to continued interaction during captivity and the exchange of phone numbers.
After the women were eventually released, they maintained communication with the suspects while discreetly alerting security authorities. Acting on guidance from law enforcement, the victims agreed to arrange a meeting with the suspects under the guise of a romantic encounter.
On Tuesday, police operatives, who had been monitoring the communication and plans, moved in and arrested the suspects at the agreed meeting location without incident.
The Kaduna State Police Command confirmed the arrests and said investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the suspects’ activities, including whether they are linked to other kidnapping cases in the state.
Police authorities stated that the suspects will be charged to court after the conclusion of investigations and urged members of the public to report suspicious activities promptly to security agencies.
The Command also commended the victims for their cooperation, describing it as crucial to the successful arrest of the suspects.
