A Kaduna-bound train from Abuja tragically crushed twin girls to death in Tafa Local Government Area (LGA) of Niger State. The accident occurred around 10 am on Saturday, claiming the lives of Hassana and Hussaina Baro, who were just one year and six months old.
Wasiu Abiodun, spokesperson for the Niger State Police, confirmed the incident. “Information was received that on 24/5/2024, a moving train from Abuja heading to Kaduna crushed two girls named Hassana Baro and Hussaina Baro, who were about one year and six months old, to death while playing on the railway at Kuchiko village, via the New-Bwari area in Tafa LGA,” Abiodun said.
Witnesses reported that a man saw the children on the tracks but was unable to rescue them before the train arrived, resulting in the tragic loss.
