Twin Foetuses Found in Refuse Site in Plateau Community
Residents of Special Site in Pankshin Local Government Area of Plateau State were left in shock on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, after twin foetuses were discovered in a refuse dump behind a residential area.
The remains, believed to be about five months old and identified as male and female, were found inside a polythene bag. The discovery triggered concern among residents who gathered at the scene shortly after the incident was reported.
A local resident, Enman Danladi, said the situation came to light after a farm worker nearby noticed unusual activity around the dump site.
According to him, the worker observed a dog sniffing at a bag surrounded by flies, prompting him to inspect it more closely, where the foetuses were discovered.
Danladi said he was alerted and later informed other residents, leading to a small crowd assembling at the location to confirm what had been found.
He added that the atmosphere quickly turned tense, with residents expressing anger and distress over the incident. Some women in the community were particularly affected, with several visibly emotional at the scene.
Community members later buried the remains near the dump site after discussions among residents. No formal complaint was made to security or health authorities.
Danladi said no suspect had been identified, noting that those responsible for such acts are often not from the immediate area, making tracing difficult.
He added that the community has remained unsettled since the discovery.
