“Try to Answer Your DM” – Nigerian Woman Advises Women After Marrying Man Who Slid Into Her DM 5 Years Ago
A Nigerian woman, Deborah Ned, has shared her love story to encourage others to respond to their direct messages.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, Deborah revealed she recently tied the knot with her husband, Emmanuel Ned, five years after he first reached out to her via DM.
Emmanuel sent the message on October 16, 2019, congratulating Deborah on completing her final examinations. He politely asked for her phone number and invited her to lunch. Deborah replied with gratitude, provided her contact, and agreed to arrange a date.
To mark their wedding, she posted a screenshot of the initial conversation alongside a photo from their big day, captioning it, “The dm I responded to. Five years after. Try dey answer your dm.”
Her story has since sparked conversations online about taking chances and not ignoring friendly messages.
