Troops Capture Notorious Terrorist Habu Dogo, Arrest Seven IPOB/ESN Commanders in Nationwide Crackdown

 

 

Nigerian troops from Operation Forest Sanity have apprehended a high-profile terrorist leader, Abubakar Ibrahim, known as Habu Dogo, along with seven commanders of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its security arm, the Eastern Security Network (ESN).

 

According to a statement from the Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, the notorious terrorist Habu Dogo was arrested in Rumji Village, Illela Local Government Area of Sokoto State. Dogo has been on the wanted list of security agencies in both Nigeria and Niger Republic, as his operations span across national borders, posing a significant security threat in the region.

 

In the same week, troops in the southeastern part of the country captured seven key figures affiliated with IPOB/ESN, including Dr. Nnamdi Chukwudoze and Chigozie Ezetoha, alias “Chapet,” who were arrested in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State. Additional operatives, Mrs. Ngozi Chukwuka and Mr. Oyekachi Ohia, were apprehended in Umuahia South, Abia State. Three others— I feanyi Eze, Augustine Udemba, and Onyedikachi Udemba—were detained in Umunneochi, Abia State, while Elijah Mmaduipeya Obumneke was arrested in Orsu, Imo State.

 

Maj.-Gen. Buba highlighted that these arrests reflect the military’s continued counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism efforts, which are aimed at systematically degrading the operational capabilities of terrorist groups throughout the nation.
