Transcorp Hotels CEO, Dupe Olusola, Launches Next Generation Foundation to Mark 50th Birthday
Dupe Olusola, Managing Director and CEO of Transcorp Hotels Plc, celebrated her 50th birthday with a powerful gesture by launching the Next Generation Foundation. This philanthropic initiative is aimed at transforming the lives of underserved children across Nigeria through access to quality education.
Driven by a passion for education and its ability to create lasting change, Olusola said the foundation reflects her deep belief that every child deserves a chance at a better future. “Education changes lives—it opens doors to opportunities, especially for children who might otherwise be left behind,” she said, highlighting the significance of the foundation’s mission.
Nigeria faces one of the largest out-of-school populations globally, and Olusola hopes her foundation will contribute to addressing this challenge. The Next Generation Foundation’s flagship initiative, the “50 by 50” project, will begin in the 2024/2025 academic session. It offers multiyear scholarships to 50 children aged 6 to 18 from low-income families.
The scholarship program covers tuition, school supplies, uniforms, nutrition programs, healthcare services, and mentorship, initially focusing on students in the FCT, Lagos, and Ogun states. The initiative is set to partner with leading social impact organizations dedicated to education.
Olusola’s vision through the foundation extends beyond individual scholarships, aiming to support broader education reforms across the country. “With the Next Generation Foundation, I hope we can make a meaningful difference,” she added.
