Top Bandit Leader Executes 7 of His Fighters in Broad Daylight Over Alleged Betrayal, Unauthorised Kidnappings
Notorious bandit kingpin Ado Aleru has reportedly killed seven of his own fighters in Zamfara State over suspicion of betrayal and alleged unauthorised kidnappings.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the executions took place across villages in Takulawa, Turba, Bamamu and within the Yamma forest axis. Aleru accused the slain fighters of carrying out abductions along the Gusau–Yankara highway without his approval, an act he viewed as a direct challenge to his authority and a risk to his wider operations.
Sources disclosed that the bandit leader personally carried out the executions after confirming their involvement in recent highway kidnappings. He was said to have feared the incidents were drawing unwanted attention from security forces.
The killings have fueled tension within his camp, leaving many loyalists unsettled and concerned about growing mistrust in the ranks.
Aleru, once declared wanted by the Federal Government as a terrorist, has for years been linked to mass kidnappings, killings, and cattle rustling across Zamfara, Katsina and parts of Sokoto. Despite his violent record, he has also been involved in peace talks with a federal committee working to end hostilities in the North West.
