Tinubu’s Administration Most Christian-Friendly Since Nigeria’s Creation — Akpabio
President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has described the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the most Christian-friendly government since Nigeria’s creation, citing what he called the President’s record of fairness across religious lines.
Akpabio made the remarks on Tuesday at a reception rally held at the Jos Polo Ground to formally welcome Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Jackson Udom, Akpabio said President Tinubu had demonstrated religious balance through his actions in office.
“Let me place on record that the President Bola Tinubu-led administration is the most Christian-friendly administration since the creation of Nigeria,” he said. “He has shown this through his actions. He treats both Christians and Muslims equally.”
Congratulating Governor Mutfwang on his decision to align Plateau State with the ruling party, Akpabio said the move had positioned the state more centrally in national politics. He assured the governor of federal support, particularly in addressing insecurity and improving living conditions in the state.
“Mr Governor, I congratulate you on this action of taking the people of Plateau to the centre of national politics,” Akpabio said. “Insecurity will soon come to an end in Plateau. We will support your government across all sectors to improve the lives of your people.”
He also noted that Mutfwang’s entry into the APC meant that all states in the North Central geopolitical zone were now aligned with the party, describing the development as significant.
Akpabio further stated that the federal government remained committed to protecting Nigerians regardless of religious belief, adding that the National Assembly would support President Tinubu through the approval of funds aimed at closing all internally displaced persons (IDP) camps across the country.
In his remarks, Governor Mutfwang thanked party leaders and supporters who made the event possible, with special appreciation for Akpabio’s role.
He described the rally as a defining moment for Plateau State and said it reflected the collective will of the people to support the APC and President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.
“This movement is a landmark,” Mutfwang said. “It is a statement by the people of Plateau, who have come out in their thousands to publicly declare their support for the APC and to return President Tinubu to office in 2027. We are beginning a journey towards unity, peace, and development.”
