Tinubu Will Tackle FCT Insecurity, Daniel Bwala Reassures
In the face of escalating banditry and kidnapping in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Daniel Bwala, former aide to Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, expresses confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s ability to find a lasting solution.
Amid reports of bandits demanding a staggering N700 million ransom for the release of abducted FCT residents, the situation reached a grim turn as three victims were reported killed by their captors in Sagwari Layout Estate Dutse, Abuja.
Bwala, posting on X, emphasized the need for innovative approaches, urging the formation of a National Security Advisory Council comprising serving and retired heads of intelligence and security agencies. He believes that such a council, with representatives from organizations like SSS, DIA, NIA, and the Police, could think outside the box to effectively address the ongoing crisis.
“The crisis economy is testing the resolve of this administration. Amidst the rising spat of banditry and kidnapping for ransom, I am convinced that @officialABAT would galvanize a consensus of national security brains to find a lasting solution to this evil,” Bwala wrote. He specifically proposed the constitution of a seven-member advisory council to tackle the security challenges head-on.
