“Tinubu Has Failed Woefully, Risk Becoming OTP” – APC Chieftain
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Jesutega Onokpasa, has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration, saying the president has “failed woefully” in delivering good governance. Speaking during an interview with Arise Television on Sunday, Onokpasa warned that if the current performance continues, Tinubu risks becoming a one-term president (OTP).
Onokpasa stressed that the focus of the ruling party should not be on attracting defections from opposition parties but on providing effective leadership and addressing the country’s pressing challenges. He expressed disapproval of the recent defection of Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to the APC, describing it as inconsequential to both the party and the state. Onokpasa, who revealed that Oborevwori is his cousin, said he was neither informed about the defection nor saw it as a meaningful development.
“It is not a question of people defecting to our party. It is a question of are we ruling well? In that sense, we failed woefully,” Onokpasa said. He criticized Tinubu’s government for failing to provide food and relief to Nigerians amid difficult economic times, stressing that defections from opposition parties undermine democratic principles.
