“This War Will Affect Everyone, Regardless of Race or Religion” — Iran Warns
Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, has cautioned that the consequences of the ongoing war will extend far beyond national borders, affecting people worldwide regardless of race, religion, or economic status.
Speaking on Wednesday, March 18, Araghchi said the conflict is already triggering a chain of global repercussions. In a post on X, he stated that the effects of the war “will affect all – irrespective of wealth, religion, or race.”
The minister also used the post to highlight dissent within Western institutions. He shared a resignation letter from Joe Kent, who stepped down from his role at the US National Counterterrorism Center on Tuesday, March 17.
In the letter, Kent said he could not “in good conscience” support the ongoing military action, arguing that Iran did not pose an immediate threat to the United States.
Araghchi pointed to what he described as a growing number of officials in Europe and the US questioning the justification for the war. He urged more members of the international community to take a similar stance against the conflict.
