“This individual who couldn’t fix a dot within a circle is now saying that he can fix the entire circle” – Bashir Ahmad taunts Peter Obi
Former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, has taken a swipe at former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in a post shared via his X handle on Monday night.
In what appeared to be a direct jab, Ahmad remarked, “This individual who couldn’t fix a dot within a circle is now saying that he can fix the entire circle,” seemingly referencing Obi’s time as governor and his bid for the presidency. He described such a mindset as “an insult to everyone’s collective memory.”
Ahmad also used the opportunity to address what he described as a growing misinterpretation of political disagreements as ethnic attacks. He emphasized that opposing Peter Obi’s political stance should not be misconstrued as hatred toward his person or his tribe.
“Our brothers should understand that disagreeing with Mr. Peter Obi politically is not an attack on his person and certainly not on his tribe. Politics should never be seen as ethnic rivalry. We all know that PO is not the sole representative of his entire ethnic group. So, disagreeing with his political stance should not be translated as bigotry in any way,” he wrote.
Ahmad added that he had met Obi in person, describing him as “a good person” whom he respects. However, he maintained that they do not align politically, and stressed that such differences should be viewed as normal and acceptable in a healthy democracy.
