“They’re fighting Islamic Republic not Iranian people” — Sheikh Ahmad Gumi
Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi says the ongoing tensions involving Iran are directed at the country’s political system, not its citizens.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Gumi maintained that criticism and pressure are focused on the Islamic Republic rather than ordinary Iranians. He also suggested that Persians could play a future role in strengthening Islamic leadership, describing them as part of what he called resistance to injustice.
He cautioned against mocking references to Allah, adding that ultimate authority rests with God.
Gumi’s statement followed recent remarks by Donald Trump, who issued a warning to Iran in a post on Truth Social earlier the same day.
