These images of the rescue of some of the children trapped in the collapsed building in Itafaji, Lagos tell a story.
A story of providence.
Of Resilience.
Of possibility.
Of hope.
The children who made it alive from this are extremely lucky. But it is one encounter they will never forget.
They will have nightmares and possibly many will only feel safe outdoors forever.
They need trauma counselling in addition to medical care.
The loved ones of the deceased also need counseling. Some lost 3 children. That can’t be easy to deal with.
