“The Charges Against Nnamdi Kanu Don’t Make Sense Legally” – Sam Amadi Reveals What Justice Binta Nyako Told Him

 

 

In a recent revelation, Sam Amadi, Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, shared that Justice Binta Nyako had previously expressed doubts about the legal strength of the charges against Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

 

Amadi’s comments come shortly after Justice Nyako announced her decision to recuse herself from Kanu’s ongoing trial. According to Amadi, the judge had hinted at her concerns over the case two years ago, suggesting that the charges against Kanu would be difficult to substantiate.

 

“The charges against Nnamdi Kanu do not make much sense legally speaking, and in my opinion, are difficult to prove,” Amadi wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday. He added that Justice Nyako had previously conveyed similar sentiments to him, making her recent decision to step back unsurprising.

 

Amadi described the trial as politically motivated, stating, “It is a political trial in the guise of a legal trial. End it.”

 

This development follows Nnamdi Kanu’s earlier remarks, where he expressed a loss of confidence in the judicial process and requested Justice Nyako’s withdrawal from the case.
