Terrorists in Hijab Launch Deadly Assault on Katsina State Police Station
Terrorists disguised in hijab attire targeted a police post in Saki Jiki village, Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State, claiming the life of one officer and injuring another. The Katsina State Police Command confirmed the attack, which took place at 8 pm on Thursday.
According to Abubakar Aliyu, the Police Public Relations Officer, the officers valiantly defended their post, successfully repelling the assailants. Despite their efforts, one officer tragically lost his life, and another sustained injuries during the confrontation.
Aliyu issued a statement on Friday, asserting that the police force is actively managing the situation at the duty post. He stated, “Further development will be communicated in due course, please.”
This disturbing incident adds to the growing wave of terrorist activities in Katsina State, particularly in the Batsari Local Government Area. Within the past week, the state has witnessed at least two attacks, raising concerns about the security situation.
In a separate brutal incident last week, bandits targeted Kukar Babangida village in Jibia Local Government Area, resulting in the tragic deaths of nine residents, including the village head. The grim situation continued on Sunday when bandits abducted three students from a private university in the state.
As the security forces remain on high alert, the community is anxiously awaiting updates on the efforts to address and curb the escalating violence in the state.
