Teacher Arrested by Police for Beheading Pupil, Removing Genital Organs
A 45-year-old Islamic teacher, Musa Wada, has been arrested by the Jigawa State Police Command for the alleged murder and mutilation of his 14-year-old Almajiri student, Bashir Adamu. According to a statement released on Saturday by police spokesperson SP Lawan Shiisu, Wada was apprehended in Jikas-Dabaja village, Gwaram Local Government Area, following a tip-off.
The police said Wada initially punished the teenager over absenteeism from school. During interrogation, the suspect confessed that Bashir collapsed and died while being disciplined. In an attempt to mislead investigators and the public, he allegedly beheaded the boy and removed his genitals to make it appear as a ritual killing.
Shiisu revealed that the suspect buried the victim’s head and genitals on his farmland. The incident came to light after a decomposing, headless body with missing genital organs was discovered by the roadside on March 12 in Jikas-Dabaja village. The body was later identified as Bashir Adamu.
Following his arrest and confession at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Dutse, police say Wada will be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
