TCN Issues Blackout Alert to Abuja Residents
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced that parts of Abuja will experience a power outage on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
In a statement released on Friday, TCN spokesman Ndidi Mbah stated that the outage is necessary for preventive maintenance on the transformer supplying power to Akwanga Town, Wamba, Gudi, Garaku, Nasarawa Eggon, and surrounding areas.
“@TCN_NIGERIA hereby states that its maintenance crew will carry out a planned annual preventive maintenance on its 40MVA Transformer at Akwanga Transmission Substation on Saturday, 22nd June, 2024 between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.,” Mbah said.
The statement explained that during this period, Abuja DisCo will be unable to draw power from the transformer for supply to the affected areas. TCN assured residents that power supply will be restored as soon as the maintenance is completed at 4:30 p.m. the same day.
The company apologized for any inconvenience this may cause to electricity consumers in the affected regions.
