Suspected Boko Haram, ISWAP Members Arrested in Osun, Governor Adeleke Praises DSS
Governor Ademola Adeleke has commended the Department of State Services (DSS) for apprehending suspected members of Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Ilesa, Osun State.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Saturday, the governor expressed gratitude for the swift action taken by the security agency in eliminating a potential threat. He described the intelligence operation that led to the arrest as evidence of the DSS’s effectiveness in safeguarding the state.
Adeleke reassured residents that his administration remains committed to collaborating with security agencies to ensure the protection of lives and property. He emphasized that security remains a top priority for his government and pledged continued support for law enforcement efforts.
“This is a welcome development and a major relief, not just for our government but for the people of Osun and Nigeria as a whole. I commend the security operatives for their alertness and intelligence-driven operation. We have absolute confidence in our security forces to keep protecting us,” Adeleke stated.
As the Chief Security Officer of Osun State, Adeleke reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining law and order. He stressed the importance of a strong partnership between his administration and security agencies, vowing to sustain the existing cooperation.
The governor also urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities. He assured the people of Osun that under his leadership, the state would continue to uphold peace and security.
