Supreme Court Judgement on Zamfara: Nothing is holding INEC from handing PDP Governorship Candidate Certificate of return

One thing that is clear from Supreme Court Judgement is that it declared votes cast to APC in all the elections in Zamfara State in 2019 as *WASTED VOTES .*

By implications , all the votes cast to APC candidates assumed not to exist in the eyes of the law according Supreme Court .

*Section 179(2)(a)(b) determines who wins Governorship election in Nigeria and PDP candidate fulfilled this section of our constitution .*

Two Constitutional Provisions to be fulfilled are :

*(i) Section 179(2)(a) :*

Mr Bello Matawalle of PDP’s 189,452 votes is the highest votes score in Zamfara Governorship election and thereby fulfilled Section 179(2)(a) .

*(ii) Section 179(2)(b) :*

Here this Section talk about scoring 25% of the votes cast in 2/3 of the LGAs in the state

Full result of Zamfara governorship election in the entire 14 LGA and it shows that PDP candidate scored above 25% in all the LGAs .

*Mr Bello Matawalle of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 189,452 votes, is now presumed winner of the election courtesy of the APC vs APC Supreme Court Judgement .*

So ,INEC don’t have to manufacture any law here , but to enforce Supreme Court Judgement by issuing Certificate of Return to Mr Bello .
