“Stop Talking About Nigeria in a Negative Tone,” Tinubu Tells Nigerians in Diaspora
President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians living abroad to stop portraying the country negatively, emphasizing the need for unity in building the nation. Speaking at the reopening and re-dedication of the 4,000-capacity Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts in Iganmu, Lagos, on Wednesday, Tinubu called on citizens both at home and in the diaspora to champion Nigeria’s growth and heritage.
Tinubu described Nigeria as a nation of brave, confident, and dedicated people, urging Nigerians to believe in the legacy passed down by their forebears. He noted that progress does not solely depend on education, but on collective belief in the country’s potential.
“Let’s build it together; if you had a bad dream, forget it, this country will succeed,” Tinubu said, stressing that Nigerians should take pride in their nation and contribute to its success. He concluded by appealing to citizens to uplift Nigeria, put the country first, and work together to achieve lasting progress.
