“Speed Darlington Is a Disgrace to Igbos” – Portable Slams Singer Over Viral Video Confession

Nigerian singer Portable has publicly called out fellow artiste and internet personality Speed Darlington, following the circulation of a controversial video in which Speed Darlington appeared to claim he had sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl.

In a strongly-worded video posted online, Portable expressed outrage over the content of Speed Darlington’s video, accusing him of tarnishing the reputation of Igbo men.

“This man called Speed Darlington, aka Akpi, is a disgrace to Igbo men,” Portable said. “Igbo men are known to take care of women. They have money, they spend on their women. But this one is online talking about sleeping with a minor. That’s not just shameful — it’s criminal.”

Portable continued his criticism, alleging that Speed Darlington’s behavior reflects poorly on the Igbo community:

“He is the first Igbo man I’ve seen who is lazy and still brags about r@ping a child. While his mates are waiting for cargo ships at the port and doing business, he’s online crying about relationships and r@ping a girl who is still looking for university admission. You must go to jail.”

The video, which has caused widespread backlash, is currently under investigation.

Speed Darlington is expected to appear before the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) today for questioning over the controversial statements he made in the video.
