“Soludo, Wake Up From Your Security Slumber or Throw in the Towel!” — APC Candidate Criticizes Governor Over Onitsha Market Incident
Following the reported deaths of four people in Onitsha Main Market today, Anambra APC Governorship Candidate, Rt. Hon. Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu, has issued a strong statement criticizing Governor Charles Soludo over the state of security in Anambra.
In the press release, the candidate condemned the actions of non-state actors, describing the market incident as evidence of a broader failure to protect citizens. He called on the governor to ensure that the perpetrators are held accountable and emphasized that the government has a responsibility to safeguard lives and property.
The statement also urged the Inspector General of Police and the Director of the DSS to investigate the incident and bring those responsible to justice. The candidate described the current security situation in the state as unacceptable and warned against allowing non-state actors to operate with impunity.
Outlining his own approach to security, the candidate emphasized a system that combines digital and IT-led surveillance with targeted operational measures, stating that the protection of citizens is a priority.
The press release concluded with a direct warning to the governor: “Wake up from your security slumber or throw in the towel.”
The statement has drawn attention to growing concerns about security in Anambra State and renewed calls for urgent government action.
