Soludo Reacts to Viral Report of Him Consulting Native Doctor Over 2025 Guber Election
Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra State has strongly denied claims that he consulted a native doctor in preparation for the upcoming governorship election scheduled for November 8, 2025. In a statement issued Wednesday in Awka by his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, the governor described the allegations as false, malicious, and a deliberate attempt to mislead the public.
According to the statement, the viral video that sparked the rumour was taken completely out of context and misrepresented by those Aburime referred to as “mischief-makers.” He clarified that the clip was from a recent official engagement between the Governor and a group of Anambra-based content creators at Government House. The event, organised by the Governor’s Special Senior Assistant on New Media, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, was part of Soludo’s ongoing efforts to support and collaborate with the state’s growing creative economy.
During the session, one of the content creators performed a comedic skit portraying a native doctor, a common trope in Nigerian online entertainment. The skit, the government explained, was intended to showcase the performer’s creativity and was not in any way a spiritual consultation.
The government urged the public to disregard the video and accompanying social media commentary, stressing that the performance was purely for entertainment and had no political or spiritual undertones. It further reiterated the Governor’s commitment to empowering local talents and building a vibrant creative sector in Anambra State.
