Shettima, Obasanjo, Jonathan Attend Soludo’s Second-Term Inauguration
Vice President Kashim Shettima, alongside former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, arrived at Chinua Achebe Airport on Tuesday to participate in the second-term inauguration of Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
Footage shared by Anambra State New Media confirmed their arrival at the Umueri airport, where the dignitaries were welcomed ahead of the ceremony.
Several other high-profile figures, including former Commonwealth Secretary-General Emeka Anyaoku, were also expected to attend.
The inauguration is taking place at the newly renovated Alex Ekwueme Square. Traditional rulers from all 179 communities in Anambra State, as well as monarchs from other regions, have gathered for the event.
Governor Soludo secured re-election on November 8, 2025, under the All Progressives Grand Alliance, which coordinated attendance from members across all 326 political wards.
Security has been reinforced across the state, with personnel from the police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Road Safety Corps, and other agencies stationed at key locations.
The governor and his deputy concluded their first term on Sunday with an interdenominational thanksgiving service at the International Convention Centre.
