Senator Ifeanyi Ubah Affirms Dedication to Sports Development: Umuezu Kindred Secures Victory in Umuanuka Otolo Unity Cup Tournament

In a resounding display of commitment to sports development, Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, representing Anambra South Senatorial District, reiterated his unwavering dedication to fostering the sports sector and encouraging local communities to organize sports events. The affirmation came during the climactic showdown of the 2023/2024 Umuanuka Otolo Unity Cup Tournament, held at the St Peter’s Catholic Church field in Umuanuka Otolo Nnewi.

Senator Ubah emphasized the significant role of sports in youth development and the promotion of unity within communities. He pledged continued support for the sports sector in Anambra South Senatorial District, vowing to ensure consistent backing for its growth.

Accompanied by key figures including Chief Vin Onyeka of the Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation, Chief Ernest Otugo of Afaigboefuna Solidarity, and other stakeholders, Senator Ubah expressed gratitude to the Anuka Progressive Union, led by Mr. Luke Metuh, for fostering unity through impactful programs. He also extended appreciation to the Umuanuka community for their steadfast support, assuring them of his commitment to activities that enhance the district’s development.

Mr. Luke Metuh, President-General of Anuka Progressive Union, highlighted the tournament’s role in strengthening community bonds and youth development. He commended Senator Ubah for his developmental initiatives and assured him of continued support from the community.

The pinnacle of the tournament saw Umuezu Kindred emerge victorious, securing the championship with a two-to-one triumph over Umuezeomodo Kindred. Prior to the final match, Umuko Kindred clinched third place by defeating Ezenkwa Kindred one-nil in a closely contested battle. The tournament, initiated in December 2023, stands as a testament to the community’s commitment to fostering unity and nurturing its youth through sports.
