The generous grant, which marks the second phase of his educational support initiative, aims to assist students pursuing studies in various institutions across the country.
Each of the 2840 students will receive a grant of N50,000, with the distribution scheduled to continue until it covers all eight council areas represented by Senator Lamido in the Senate. The recent disbursement, held at Skyland Event Center Sokoto, specifically covered beneficiaries from Goronyo and Illela local government areas.
Hon Auwal Umar Wali, the Legislative Aide to Senator Lamido, emphasized that the senator’s gesture is geared towards supporting students from less privileged families. The initiative seeks to level the playing field, enabling these students to compete effectively in their pursuit of tertiary education, irrespective of their socio-economic backgrounds.

He urged other leaders and well-to-do individuals in society to emulate Senator Lamido’s exemplary support for the educational sector, emphasizing its fundamental role in shaping a thriving society.
One of the beneficiaries, Mu’awuya Mukhtar Goronyo, expressed heartfelt appreciation to Senator Lamido for the unprecedented educational support. Goronyo remarked that such a significant initiative had not been witnessed in the political history of Sokoto East Senatorial District, despite the presence of numerous senators and representatives in the past.
