Security Alert: Three Inmates Escape from Ijebu Ode Correctional Centre
Three inmates managed to escape from the Ijebu Ode Correctional Centre in Ogun State during the early hours of Saturday morning. The fugitives have been identified as Hammed Adeboyejo, convicted of armed robbery and murder; Fatai Taiwo Akande, a murderer; and Aliu Oguntona, serving time for sexual offences.
The Ijebu Imusin Area Command of the So-Safe Corps issued a statement urging the public to remain vigilant. The statement emphasized, “If you see any of them, quickly contact the office of the So-Safe Corps Command, the Nigerian Police, or any other security agency.”
Authorities disclosed that the escape occurred at approximately 3 a.m. and assured the public that efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the fugitives. The Nigeria Correctional Service is collaborating with various security agencies to ensure the swift return of the escaped inmates to the correctional facility.
Citizens are urged to stay informed and report any sightings or relevant information to the designated authorities, contributing to the collective effort to enhance public safety.
