Secondary School Student Commits Suicide In Benue
In a heart-wrenching incident, the Benue State community of Akpehe, situated within the bustling metropolis of Makurdi, was plunged into mourning as a 17-year-old secondary school student, Terhemba Tyochivir, reportedly committed suicide. The tragic incident unfolded on Thursday, sending shockwaves through the region.
Tyochivir, a student at Government Secondary School, Gboko, was discovered lifeless, casting a pall of sorrow over the community. Police spokesperson for the Benue command, SP. Catherine Anene, confirmed the devastating news to journalists in Makurdi on Friday, shedding light on this deeply distressing event.
While the circumstances surrounding this tragic loss remain shrouded in mystery, eyewitnesses disclosed that after Tyochivir was found lifeless, he was swiftly transported to Bishop Murray Hospital Makurdi. Tragically, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, the young student was pronounced dead.
The grieving community is left searching for answers, grappling with the sudden and inexplicable loss of a promising young life. As this heartbreaking incident continues to send shockwaves through Benue State, many are left wondering about the factors that may have contributed to this devastating turn of events.
Efforts to reach the deceased’s father, Kula Tyochivir, for comments were met with an assurance that he would address the public at a later time. In the meantime, the community, family, and friends of Terhemba Tyochivir are left to mourn and grapple with the painful reality of this tragedy.
