Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Sentenced to Four Years, Two Months in Prison
American rapper and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been sentenced to four years and two months in federal prison after being found guilty on two counts of transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution.
The 55-year-old Bad Boy Records founder received the sentence on Friday from Judge Arun Subramanian at a New York federal courthouse. The ruling also includes five years of supervised release and a $500,000 fine, the maximum allowed by law.
Combs appeared stunned as the judge referenced his children during the sentencing. He later turned to his family and said, “I’m sorry” and “I love you.”
Federal prosecutors had sought an 11-year term, describing Combs as “unrepentant” and arguing that his actions left victims in lasting fear. His defense team requested a 14-month sentence, equal to the time he has already served since his arrest in September 2024.
Combs was convicted in July 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution involving two women, identified in court as Ventura and Jane. He was acquitted of more serious charges, including sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion and racketeering conspiracy**. Prosecutors said the rapper arranged flights for women, girlfriends, and male sex workers for sexual encounters he referred to as “freak-offs.”
Combs was arrested following allegations from more than 120 accusers, including a minor, who accused him of kidnapping, blackmail, physical abuse, and sex-related crimes.
He has been held for the past 14 months at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, a facility known for harsh conditions. Judge Subramanian denied him bail ahead of sentencing, ruling that Combs and his legal team failed to show he posed “no danger to any person,” a key requirement for pre-sentencing release.
