Sanusi Axes Aide for Welcoming Ganduje
The Cold War between Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II and the Governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has produced a casualty as the Emir fired one of his aides, Maja Siddin Sarkin Kano, Alhaji Auwalu for his involvement in the grand reception accorded to the governor last Wednesday following his victory at the Tribunal.
Auwalu who joined thousands of Kano residents in welcoming the governor back to Kano presented the portrait of the late Emir of Kano, His Highness, Sarkin Ado Abdullahi Bayero to Ganduje as his long convoy passed through the Emir’s Palace from Kano airport towards Government House.
The sacked chief was in-charge of the decoration of the Emir’s palace, a position he has held for over three decades. Auwalu has been ordered to vacate the palace by the Sanusi.
Sanusi who was not in Kano at the time of the reception was reportedly angered by Auwalu’s conduct.
