Sam Larry Arrested, Detained by Lagos Police in Connection with Mohbad’s Mysterious Death

Balogun Olamilekan Eletu, widely recognized as Sam Larry, has been apprehended and placed in police custody by the Lagos State Police Command. This arrest comes amid suspicions and speculations surrounding the untimely demise of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, better known as Mohbad, who passed away under mysterious circumstances on September 12th.

The tragic loss of the Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter, Mohbad, had stirred an outpouring of grief and demands for answers from the public. Allegations and whispers on social media had connected both Naira Marley and Sam Larry to the events leading up to Mohbad’s death.

Naira Marley, who currently resides abroad, had emphatically denied any involvement in the unfortunate incident. However, the Lagos State Police Command has now taken Balogun Olamilekan Eletu, aka Sam Larry, into custody for questioning.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the official spokesperson for the command, confirmed Sam Larry’s detention and his role in the ongoing investigation. In a tweet, Hundeyin stated, “Balogun Olamilekan Eletu aka Sam Larry is now in our custody. He is currently assisting with the ongoing investigation.”

Mohbad had gained fame as a prominent artist and was formerly associated with Naira Marley’s Marlian Records, leaving the label in 2022. His music, including hit tracks like “Ponmo,” “Peace,” “Beast and Peace,” “Sorry,” “Feel Good,” and the sensational “KPK (Ko Por Ke)” with Rexxie, had earned him acclaim and three nominations at The Headies Awards in 2022.

Tragically, after his departure from Marlian Records, Mohbad had accused his former manager, Naira Marley, of assault in October 2022. He had claimed that Naira Marley had ordered individuals to physically harm him after he had expressed his intention to appoint a different manager for his music and business endeavors.

In a further twist to this already convoluted narrative, it has been revealed that Mohbad had filed a police report in June 2023, prior to his demise, alleging that Samson Erinfolami Balogun, known as “Sam Larry” and a prominent figure in Marley’s circle, had assaulted him and caused damage to his property.

The arrest of Sam Larry and the ongoing investigation by the Lagos State Police Command mark a significant development in the quest to uncover the truth behind Mohbad’s tragic and mysterious death. As Nigerians await further details, questions about the events leading up to the singer’s passing continue to linger, leaving the nation in a state of mourning and curiosity.
