According to a reliable source who spoke on condition of anonymity, the governor left the premises early Wednesday morning. Although full details remain unclear, the departure is believed to be linked to the federal government’s imposition of emergency rule and the appointment of a new administrator.

Security presence around the Government House has notably decreased, though two Armoured Personnel Carriers remain stationed outside with a small number of operatives maintaining a watchful presence.

Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.), appointed by President Bola Tinubu to administer the state for the next six months, had not arrived at the Government House as of 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday. However, preparations for his arrival were visibly underway, with approximately 15 soldiers stationed within the premises, signaling readiness for his assumption of office.
