Rivers APC Chairman to Governor Fubara: ‘You Did Not Vote for Tinubu in Last Election’
In a recent revelation, Chief Tony Okocha, the Rivers Caretaker Committee Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), disclosed that Governor Simnalayi Fubara did not vot for President Bola Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election.
Speaking amidst a protest organized by leaders of both the APC and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against Governor Fubara’s purported intention to demolish the House of Assembly Quarters in Port Harcourt, Okocha highlighted the alleged discrepancy in Fubara’s political allegiance.
The protest, attended by notable figures including Desmond Akawor, Kingsley Chindah, and Olaka Nwogu, aimed to address concerns over the governor’s actions.
Okocha asserted, “This goes to show the world that Rivers people are united. We are one.” He further elaborated on Fubara’s claimed support for President Tinubu, stating, “The governor claims he would always support Tinubu, but he never voted for him in the last year.”
Highlighting the intricacies of political dynamics, Okocha emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability, particularly within the electoral process. “As chairman of APC, Rivers State, I have taken a look at the details of voting in the past election and it is clear to me that the governor did not vote for Mr. President,” he added.
