Reactions trail President Buhari’s new year speech

With the nation basking in the euphoria of new year celebrations, some Port Harcourt residents want the Federal Government to address the growing threat of security, economic recession and bad governance.

Their submission was anchored on President Muhammadu Buhari’s new year message to Nigerians where he promised to sustain the fight against insecurity, anti-corruption, economic recession, and to implement the demands of EndSARS protesters.

The new year speech by President Buhari, though a yearly ritual, reaffirmed his desire to pursue the three cardinal objectives of his administration which are, security, economy, and anti-corruption, as well as to implement the EndSARS protesters five-point demands.

To some, the implementation of those areas promised was paramount as well as the need for a greater Nigerian at this point in time.

They, however, called on Nigerians to ensure that those promises were monitored.
