Having closely gone through and digested the contents of the piece written by Dr Adetokunbo Pearse, I wish to state that I am compelled to shed some light in the best interest of our dear party.
1) Does Dr Pearse have concrete evidences to confirm some of his assertions?
I wish to commence with this statement extracted from his piece: “You have applied the ignoble divide and conquer tactics to turn LGA Chairman against LGA Chairman, and Exco member against Exco member”.
I wish to state that, there are 20 LGA Chairmen, who I believe are responsible men of honour, who know their onions and can stand by their decisions.
They are all alive and well and are all available to be asked about their loyalty.
Suffice to state that “Out of every 12, there would always be a Judas”. So 100% allegiance might not be gotten, but I am sure there would be well over 85% loyalty.
2) AUTOCRATIC TENDENCIES
I stand bold to say that, it is ONLY a person on the other side of the divide that would see Engr Doherty as AUTOCRATIC in nature.
I wouldn’t however know, if not being a “stooge” or a “Yes Man” is another definition for Autocracy?
3) LETHARGIC LEADERSHIP
Dr Pearse alleged that Eng Doherty failed to convey either State Exco Meetings or State Working Committee Meetings.
I wish to ask that is this assertion a “hear say” or a statement of fact??
Conveyance of meetings can be affirmed by the attendance list and/or minutes of the meeting, has he in anyway asked for either or both??
I wouldn’t however be surprised with this leaning, when some members of the Exco would frolic with the press to call their Chairman a “Misfit”? Who does that???
I wish to also request Dr Pearce to make proper enquiry as to why the State Chairman would prefer to hold meetings at his 10degrees events center as against the State secretariat, after being privy to the fact that he almost single handedly funded the refurbishing of the building ,in order to put it in a habitable condition.
4) PERSONAL INTEREST OVER PARTY INTEREST.
It is a known fact, that every creation of God Almighty would prefer to align with persons of same leaning and ideologies except where there are hidden agendas.
It is however clearly evident here about Dr Pearce’ leaning.
My question here would be “If a person refuses to lean the way you lean, does that make the individual selfish?”
In the same vein, suffice to state here that Engr Doherty has severally come out publicly to state that the leadership of Governor Makinde by virtue of his being the only PDP Governor in the SouthWest is not in doubt and under no contention. They might however disagree in ideologies which is not out of place.
He has also on several occasions advised Gov Makinde to do away with Political Sycophants, detractors and ill-advisers, whose only agenda is to scuttle his bid to reposition the Southwest.
Without any puns intended, I would wish to state here that, I would have preferred that Dr Pearse refered to his statements as “What I gathered” rather than referring to them as “facts”.
A whole lot of his assertions are very far from the truth.
I wish to place on record, that it is less than one year that Dr Adetokunbo Pearse returned to the party, after ditching the party. He left to an opposition party the SDP after having a feud with Chief Olabode George.
It is however very surprising and suspicious that, someone who came back into the party, less than a year ago, could come out so vehemently to castigate the State Chairman?
Who should be deemed as loyal and honourable?
Is it some who ditches the party at times of trouble, or someone who despite all odds and attacks has spent well over 20 of his political years in just this party?
I wish to advise Dr Pearse that in a bid to move our dear party forward, he should please tread the part of truth, honesty and loyalty.
It should also be placed on record that the state Chairman, graciously included Dr Pearse on the honourary list of elders committee of the party, which by virtue of the party Constitution he is not eligible to be in.
I am also aware that Dr Pearse and the State Chairman most oftentimes seat together as members of some inner caucus committees, if he is a peace loving individual, shouldn’t he have called the attention of the State Chairman to these issues, rather than go on social media to say the state Chairman is usually incommunicado.
I wish to advise that in a bid to move our dear party forward, we should all try to avoid playing “politics” with delicate issues, they would only be plunging the party into deeper problems.
I hereby besiege all and sundry, that while we should all respect our personal desires to have party leanings, we should all endeavor to put the interest of the party ahead of our personal interests.
As earlier stated, my piece is not “pun intended”, but my personal expressions for a better tomorrow for our dear party.
